JBE have successfully completed Phase 1 of the HV Upgrade Works at Randox Science Park.

The works included the installation, cabling and commissioning of two new 2,000kVa transformers along with two 11kV Ring Main Units to supply an LV switchboard inside a purpose-built Energy Centre Building. The LV switchboard has been backed up by two new 2,000kVa generators. In the event of mains failure, the generators will automatically start up and supply the site until mains power has been restored. As part of the contract, JBE also carried out all cabling and fit out works within the new Energy Centre Building which included BMS, Door Access, Fire Alarm, Security Systems, General Power and General/Emergency Lighting Systems. The project had to be planned and executed correctly, i.e. the down time of electrical services had to be kept to a minimum as the Randox Science Park site was still operational throughout the duration of the project.
