JBE have successfully completed the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the Mechanical and Electrical services associated with the refurbishment and restoration of Lews Castle, coupled with the construction of a new museum and archive within a Category A listed building.
The Mechanical Services included District Heating Mains, LTHW Heating, Air Conditioning, Mechanical Ventilation, Heat Recovery Ventilation, Humidity Control for Museum Artefacts, Domestic Hot and Cold Water, Foul Drainage, Rainwater Pipework, Automatic Controls and associated Wiring, Dry Riser, LPG and Sanitary Ware.
Electrical services included LV Distribution and Switchgear, Small Power, Internal Lighting, Specialist Chandelier Feature Lighting, Emergency Lighting, External Lighting, Lighting Controls, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, Disabled Alarm Systems, Data, Earthing and Bonding.
Due to the geographical location of this project logistics was one of the biggest challenges. To ensure the key programme dates were met we implemented a very ‘strict’ and ‘planned in advance’ delivery strategy.
